Competitive Soccer (organized through MYSA)

  • Competitive soccer offers local players the opportunity to compete against skilled teams from outside our region.
  • Competitive soccer in MN includes 4 competitive divisions at each age group. These are (in order from most to least competitive) Premier, Classic 1, Classic 2 and Classic 3.  While GRASC offers options at many age and competitive divisions, there will not be opportunities at every age and competitive level.
  • Competitive soccer usually includes more practice and development work and requires more committment from both players and parents.
  • Competitive leagues include teams from the Twin Cities.
  • Teams can play 5-7 away games in the Twin Cities on weekday evenings. Some may occur on school nights during the month of May.
  • Tryouts or selection may be used to determine which players participate.
  • There is no minimum playing time requirement.
  • Season begins early May and runs through July.
  • Registration in February.

Developmental Play (Future Stars)

  • A development program for players ages 8-12.
  • No travel outside of Grand Rapids required.
  • Small-sided game philosophy, allowing players active involvement and more touches on the ball.
